Harry Potter Death is Unexpected

Harry Potter Deathly Hallows has some surprises!
We expected Harry to be killed off and he was (for a short while, pretend). Then he staged a brilliant comeback! Hint hint, the hero never dies! I think that JK Rowling must have changed her mind at the last minute. What an uproar if she killed Harry off.

Interesting thing about wizards. How long do they live? Why can't they protect themselves from being killed? Wizards have different levels of power? Less or more?

Let's ask the WIZARDS COUNCIL. All wizards interested in being included on the Council, please apply in the next post.

For muggles, death is much feared. Nobody likes to meet the Grim Reaper, standing there with his `feather duster'! His style of housekeeping is to chop things up!

Anyway, on the serious side, DEATH. The FINAL Frontier. Or is it?
Some people have near-death experience and come back (because they had unfinished things to do, or it wasn't their time to go yet).

For a kids (and big kids) book, I was surprised by the dark theme of death. But then, kids should be educated about it, otherwise get a rude shock when someone they love dies. They have no preparation for it.

Skimming through some parts of it, I got the idea that Harry felt confused, depressed and lacking in confidence at times.

Being `The Chosen One' is not an easy thing.
Neo in `Matrix' had the same problem. Plagued by doubts, insecurities...
At scary times, both Harry and Neo had to overcome their fears and insecurities, to fight the evil forces against them.

I remember a scene from Order of the Phoenix, Harry was teaching some students magic. He said something like, "If you get it (the spell) wrong in class, no big deal. But when you're fighting Voldermort, it could cost you your life."

A sign on the side of a bus, "Depression is not cured by taking a pill."
Yes, I agree, depression comes from thinking a certain way (negative, critical), lack of support, negative environment, perceived hurts/offences by other people. Untreated, it could become serious, ie suicidal. Some people hurt themselves, some hurt others as well. Like VA Tech massacre.

Harry being depressed, shows him being vulnerable.
Even a great magician has his down times.

So now that the big fight between Valdermot and Harry was over, what else remains?

Is it back to dull, boring surbubia for Harry? Life like Dudley?
Or would he have anymore adventures?

It was interesting to find out what JK Rowling had planned for Harry.
He had a wife and a child!

I wonder if she ever entertained any idea of being together with Harry.

I can't wait to see the movie version of this book.

How was it? By now I am sure that everyone has gotten a copy of the new book.
I know I have. Straight away, I went to the ending to find out if Harry had been killed off.

I was relieved to see he was not.
Was it what you expected?
Actually, I did expect Harry to die.
Really die, not pretend die.
I also thought that Armani would die.

Harry Potter and his Villians, Snape

Harry Potter is growing up fast.
I like the bad guys. They have all the good parts.
Malboy, Snape, Prof Umbridge.

I love greasy long hair, sulky eyes and sneering mouth.
Snape does a great job of pushing Harry, otherwise he is too weak to fight.
I bet Snape is really a good guy.

I went to cinema on Saturday to see Order of The Phoenix.

Hmm... I must say that it was different from what I expected after reading some reviews of the show.

I thought it would be scarier. But it was not.

I thought the ending was rather blah....
Harry was just wimping out. I wanted him to fight!
