Then he staged a brilliant comeback! Hint hint, the hero never dies! I think that JK Rowling must have changed her mind at the last minute. What an uproar if she killed Harry off.<br /><br /><strong>Interesting thing about wizards.</strong> How long do they live? Why can't they protect themselves from being killed? Wizards have different levels of power? Less or more?<br /><br />Let's ask the <strong>WIZARDS COUNCIL</strong>. All wizards interested in being included on the Council, please apply in the next post.<br /><br />For muggles, death is much feared. Nobody likes to meet the Grim Reaper, standing there with his `feather duster'! His style of housekeeping is to chop things up!<br /><br />Anyway, on the serious side, DEATH. The FINAL Frontier. Or is it?<br />Some people have near-death experience and come back (because they had unfinished things to do, or it wasn't their time to go yet).<br /><br />For a kids (and big kids) book, I was surprised by the dark theme of death. But then, kids should be educated about it, otherwise get a rude shock when someone they love dies. They have no preparation for it. <br /><br />How to grieve? How long is enough?<br />Good preparation/training for Death. Plagued by doubts, insecurities...<br />At scary times, both Harry and Neo had to overcome their fears and insecurities, to fight the evil forces against them.<br /><br />I remember a scene from <a href="http://harrypotter-deathly-hallows.blogspot.com/2007/07/harry-potter-order-of-phoenix_16.html">Order of the Phoenix</a>, Harry was teaching some students magic. He said something like, "If you get it (the spell) wrong in class, no big deal. But when you're fighting Voldermort, it could cost you your life."<br /><br />A sign on the side of a bus, "Depression is not cured by taking a pill."<br />Yes, I agree, depression comes from thinking a certain way (negative, critical), lack of support, negative environment, perceived hurts/offences by other people. Untreated, it could become serious, ie suicidal. Some people hurt themselves, some hurt others as well. Like VA Tech massacre.<br /><br />Harry being depressed, shows him being vulnerable.<br />Even a great magician has his down times.<br />What about you? I must say that it was different from what I expected after reading some reviews of the show.<br /><br />I thought it would be scarier.
